The Hardware Integration Bench (BIM) is used to check that once integrated, the various hardware components function in accordance with specifications. The hardware is stimulated and the responses analysed to verify their conformance.

Applications

The EADS TEST & SERVICES BIM built in 2002 for the new Airbus A380, tests Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) for both the A380 and the A400M.

The Software Integration Test Bench (BIL) validates the gradual installation of the various software modules up to complete integration. One special feature enables engineers to check that integration is performed without regressing to pre-validated programmes, a function that requires real time capabilities.

Applications

As with the BIM, the BIL was developed for integrating modular avionics on the A380 and A400M.

A Comprehensive Service

As for every test system developed by EADS TEST & SERVICES, the company proposes a set of comprehensive engineering and support services around their Integration Benches including on-site installation, on-request technical assistance, software development, training, on-line services via the Customer Support's website, etc.
