World Test Standard Advanced for A380 Maintenance

The ATEC Series 6 will be used for Airbus A380 maintenance and will be the reference tool for the downloading of on board software on this new aircraft.

For the A380, the ATEC series 6 can also be coupled with Airman, the new global logistics system for the Airbus family. Moreover, a new option for board (card) functional test is now available (integration of VALID Module Test Unit of Seica ) to deepen diagnostics and ease repair.

Considering the existing technical commonality between A380 and A400M, the ATEC Series 6 will also be proposed as test means for this new Airbus Military transport aircraft.

The Largest Test Programme Set (TPS) Library Available Worldwide

The ATEC Series 6 possesses a library of more that 600 TPS (more than 4,000 references), all developed by EADS TEST & SERVICES together with many prestigious avionics Equipment Manufacturers (THALES, Sagem, Honeywell…) according to the ARINC 625-1 Norm.

Among others, here follows some of the avionics equipment maintained by the ATEC Series 6: Flight Control Systems, Primary and Secondary Flight Displays, Engine Control Systems, In-Flight Entertainment (IFE), New Generation Avionics, etc.

Modular Architecture

The ATEC Series 6 is fully compliant with international norms and standards: VXI instrumentation, IEEE 488 bus, ARINC 608A switching and interface. It is designed as a modular architecture using off-the-shelf resources and is available in different configurations adapted to the user’s needs.

The ATEC series 6 is connected to each avionics unit under test thanks to a specific test adapter called TUA (Test Unit Adapter).

Open Software Architecture for the ATEC Series 6

Available in PC version under Windows NT, the ATEC Series 6 includes a user-friendly man-machine interface and now new open software architecture as the whole of the systems manufactured by EADS TEST & SERVICES.

The Open System Software OSS was designed and created by EADS TEST & SERVICES to make the re-use of test programmes developed on older testers possible, as well as the use of off-the-shelf software tools.

The ATEC Series 6's OSS uses the graphic programming software tool VISUAL OSS (transition to manual or semi-automatic modes), the SMART system software (ATLAS environment) and the Test Resource Manager TRM for resource driving.

A Comprehensive Service

As for every test system developed by EADS TEST & SERVICES, the company proposes a set of comprehensive engineering and support services around the ATEC Series 6 including on-site installation, on-request technical assistance, software development, training, on-line services via the Customer Support's website, etc.
