Development and production phases
In the development and production phases this translates into new integration benches and new production test systems specially designed for Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), plus the accompanying test engineering services.
Maintenance phase
EADS TEST & SERVICES already has a strong reputation and proven track record in maintenance testing. In addition to on-site maintenance and operations related activities, they now propose services that extend system life by forecasting and dealing with obsolescence.
Compatibility Across the Entire Range
The EADS TEST & SERVICES product range has been extended, while maintaining compatibility between the various test systems. Re-using test programme elements at the development, production and maintenance phases reduces programming times and yields optimum return on investment. Open System Software
Another feature specific to EADS TEST & SERVICES test systems is their open software architecture. This enables seamless integration of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) programmes and re-use of all or part of the test programmes already developed with other software.
This generates savings in porting test programmes originally developed by Equipment and System Manufacturers using proprietary test systems that have become obsolete.

Multi-Purpose and Interoperable Test Solutions
The sheer versatility of EADS TEST & SERVICES systems means they can test a multitude of equipment and systems. Thus, the same airline can use a single model test bench for maintaining both its Airbus and Boeing fleets, while the French Army uses the same test system for numerous weapon systems.
Beyond this technical versatility, EADS TEST & SERVICES testers offer interoperability between different armed forces: for example, the SESAR 3000 in service with the French Army is interoperable with its German version, RACE, intended for the German market. It can test the same equipment and generate precisely the same results.
Supporting European Military Programmes
Because of their interoperability, EADS TEST & SERVICES testers are particularly well adapted to current and future European military programmes, such as the NH90 helicopter, the ASTER missile or the A400M transport aircraft.

By achieving an industry-wide reputation in the electro-optic testing field, particularly with their test benches, EADS TEST & SERVICES is capable of offering multi-purpose, high performing and durable test solutions available for all kinds of environments (workshop, shelter or aircraft carrier).
The Company's electro-optic test benches cover all test and adjustment requirements of existing and future equipment integrating such technology. These have been selected to support electro-optic weapon systems of the French and German armed forces including the Rafale, Leclerc tank, Tiger helicopter, VABOBS armoured carrier, MIRABEL thermal sight and SOPHIE thermal binoculars/video camera.
